The Egyptian Society for Quality in Healthcare organizes scientific and professional conferences and forums that bring together experts, specialists, decision-makers, and healthcare providers to exchange expertise and discuss the latest trends and practices in quality, patient safety, and healthcare development.
The Society’s conferences help build stronger connections among stakeholders across the healthcare sector and transform shared knowledge and expertise into insights and recommendations that support institutional development, strengthen a culture of quality, and respond to the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
First National Conference on Healthcare Quality – 1995
The First National Conference on Healthcare Quality was held from November 26 to 28, 1995, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Fattah, then Minister of Health, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Hassan El-Kalla, then Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health. The conference represented a pioneering step by the Ministry of Health toward improving the quality of healthcare services in Egypt.
To support this objective, the conference focused on raising public awareness of quality management, which is considered a cornerstone of improving clinical performance and meeting the needs and expectations of the community.
Professional organizations participated in the conference, along with internationally renowned healthcare quality expert Donabedian and 33 experts from Arab and other countries, whose expertise enriched the discussions and contributed to the exchange of knowledge.
Second National Conference on Healthcare Quality – 1999
The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Ismail Sallam, then Minister of Health and Population, and Prof. Dr. Awad Tag El-Din, then Vice President of Ain Shams University, as official representatives of the relevant institutions.
A total of 103 researchers and experts delivered scientific presentations, including 59 participants from Egypt and 16 from Arab and other countries.
Approximately 800 participants attended the opening session, while more than 550 participants took part in the conference’s various sessions.
